Abstract:
In this project the concept of a green building is applied on an office. This project consists of designing an economical system that uses free energy from solar system and reclaimed wasted heat from an electrical generator to heat water for domestic heating and hot water, it also covers the use of a photovoltaic system to create light from the energy of the sun. In addition a full study is present on the green roof system that will be used instead of the conventional roof. Throughout the project, we go through the different materials and procedures that are involved in the green building. Hot water sources are required not only for under floor heating, but also for domestic hot water. Two important hot water sources which are used in our project include: the solar panels and U-tube heat exchanger on the exhaust of the generator. At the end of the project and to conclude the work done, we have implemented some calculations that were performed to ensure that the system is functional and efficient for the plumbing of the office, in addition to the calculation of the airconditioning of the office which was also done using the hap46 program where all the needed drawings were presented.
