Abstract:
Floodlight is an artificial source of light used to lumen an area in the absence of solar light. The aim of this project is to design an underwater floodlight that can endure high pressure and be able to lumen a long range. Difficulties were met during work because real surface quality and design of the reflector system are confidential and not publicly available. However, the analysis of the reflector was altered until results comparable to the real system were nearly obtained. MSC Patran-Nastran was used for simulation of the housing component which influenced the design decision and making process. The purpose of this project is to ease the rescue operations for divers and to widen the capacity of underwater exploration for scientists by being able to lumen a longer focus range.
