Renewable energy sources--Case studies
Issue Date: 2016
Abstract:
Today, pollution is becoming a critical issue in Lebanon. Mainly pollution is due to the excessive emissions from power plants that supply the country with electricity. Recommending a solution for this problem, the aim of this project is to utilize renewable energy instead of fossil fuels to supply power. It was decided to analyze the results of utilizing renewable energy on EMBA building at the University of Balamand. The cooling and heating loads of the building will be calculated using Hourly Analysis Program. With the load results and analyzing the weather conditions at the region; solar and wind systems will be designed. After designing these renewable systems, their efficiencies will be calculated to compare it to the efficiencies of utilizing fossil fuels.
