Issue Date: | 2018 | Abstract: | A bumper is a structure in the vehicle that protects the pedestrians and the car components from crash impacts. The objective of this project is to enhance the crashworthiness of bumpers and analyze the materials used in this industry. To accomplish this objective, a model is implemented in a Finite Element Software within parameters established by the NCAP full frontal crash test. Dynamic solver was used to simulate this crash test. A commercially available material is used to draw a comparison with the improved materials achieved by tailoring techniques. |
