This field project aims to explore the green practices in Lebanese organizations. We are at a time where ecological awareness is a necessity amongst every individual. Lebanese organizations are moderately starting to adopt green initiatives and implementing them within their workplace cultures. A well-developed and lucid online survey was sent out to a number of Lebanese organizations which appear to apply green initiatives within their cultures, either supported by the HR department, the CSR department, or other divisions. The research attempts to collect data about organizational green practices, drivers, challenges, and impacts of adopting a green culture, the major roles of the HR and CSR departments in the 'going green journey, the familiarity of Lebanese organizations with the concept of Green Human Resources Management, and finally the future plans that are established for the development of these environment-friendly practices throughout the organizations. The major findings of this project include the realization that organizations lack a properly structured system for the implementation of a green culture in the workplace. The individuals and/or the divisions primarily responsible for the decision making and the proper layout of the greening operations/action plans are undetermined. Therefore, a framework is recommended for large corporations to adopt which will be demonstrated in chapter 5. However, there is no denying that some Lebanese organizations are aware and are morally concerned about the environmental issue, that they started planning ahead on ways to sustain the environment. Some did have a positive impact on the 'green workplace culture and the environment as a whole while some still have a long way to go. The analysis, discussion, and results will reveal the reality of Lebanon and its endeavors in building a better sustained environment for the current and future generations.en_US
