dc.description.abstract | Human resources management (HRM) is an important function in any business and involves duties such as recruitment, trainings, compensation procedures and retention policies. The HRM in NGOs faces more challenges than usual due to the fact that resources are usually scarce and hence compensation procedures are often unsatisfying for employees which leads to a high organizational turnover rate. Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) must be ready to face many challenges including an increase in the demand to provide services and a decrease in governmental and private funding. The aim of this research is to explore the recruitment, selection and retention processes of NGOs in North Lebanon. A questionnaire is developed in order to investigate the ways in which NGOs in Lebanon recruit, select and retain employees. The questionnaire was distributed to 74 NGOs located in the North of Lebanon. The results suggest that Lebanese NGOs have to adopt strategic human resources management in order to attract candidates and retain employees due to the fact that they face challenges related to low wages. | en_US |
