dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this Research is to introduce a new Method named "STARS". This report starts with a brief introduction about what is "Sustainability" to introduce the idea of green buildings, and allows the reader to know what it is. It then gives an overview of samples different rating systems used all over the world. The report focuses on developing a new building rating system for assessing and rating green buildings in Lebanon; it discusses the system main functions and parts, and explains the advantages of this new method as compared to the building rating methods. The reason for this exploration is to add to a superior understanding of the idea of green building and its part for attaining to practical improvement through adding to a successful green building rating System for suitable for Lebanon and its states. Creating such System is getting to be vital in the Developing World in view of the significant ecological, social and prudent issues. Lebanon as one of these nations is in requirement for this System, particularly with poor assets and inefficient utilization. In this manner, this exploration concentrated on worldwide green building evaluation instruments, for example, LEED, BREEAM,ARZ and others. At that point defined new appraisal things regarding the nearby states of Lebanon and examined them with different Respondents. In the wake of selecting the evaluation things they were weighted utilizing the AHP strategy. The result of the examination was a recommended green building evaluation system (STARS Semaan Tool for Assessing and Rating Sustainability) that suits the Lebanese connection regarding natural, social and economic perspectives.en_US
