dc.description.abstract | Measuring the conditions of civil infrastructure such as road, telephone and internet, electricity and waste and storm water networks is an essential step to the improvement of any city and the progression of nations. This project introduces a novel approach to prioritize the infrastructure of a city according to their conditions using the "Shannon entropy" model. This method is one of the multiple methods that aid in determining the weight of alternatives in Multi-Attribute Decision Making (MADM) problems. In addition, the infrastructure will be ranked according to their repair priority using the traditional AHP. The main goal of this model is to support planners and policymakers in the development of any city by providing an assessment framework. Furthermore, in this project, the Shannon entropy and AHP models results will be compared using Fuzzy model. To apply a more practical sense to the proposed framework, a sample assessment of the Lebanese city of Tripolis civil infrastructure was made in this paper to be a model for Shannons entropy method, the AHP approach and Fuzzy model. | en_US |
