Abstract:
The objective of the project is to find a solution for apple crisis in Lebanon, since the Syrian war, apple trading has been cut and tons of apple boxes are lying in the storages awaiting their expiry date. The solution was to find new ways to use the apples in other terms like "Compote", beverages and many other forms. The solutions proposed, intended designing an automated machine to slice and cut the fruit in to different forms and sizes according to benefits. The machine was designed using "AutoCAD" software then to be simulated. The project was programed using a Programable Logic controller hardware(PLC) for easier and advanced logic programming. A smaller and easier project was created as the first prototype model to help better understand the systems functioning i.e. peeling, cutting and the rotary movements needed to be achieved later in the larger project.
