dc.description.abstract | This project includes an overview of the WiMAX system, the different MIMO techniques and the combination of WiMAX and MIMO. The main purpose of this project is to study the performance of WiMAX system in different MIMO techniques. Therefore, a simulation for a MIMO-WiMAX model in MATLAB was done. The bit error rate (BER) and the capacity where compared for different number of transmit and receive antennas. MIMO schemes were proved to deliver different benefits to the WiMAX system; spatial diversity achieved a remarkable reduction in the probability of error when the number of transmit and receive antennas decrease, when spatial multiplexing enlarged the capacity (bits/s/Hz). In addition, a comparison of different urban environments defined by the SUI standards was carried out. | en_US |
