dc.description.abstractHome management system is a project that provides electrical installation along with applying of a technology system in order to establish the concept of a smart house. It is used in many private residence sand can also be implemented in fancy Hotel suites and in operation rooms. In this project, home management system is applied to a two floor, one basement house. Fisrt, a design using AutoCAD is done for the electrical installation that includes lighting, power distribution, low current and fire alarm systems, using the NEC code as reference for all specifications. Also panel board distribution is done for all loads, along with earthing and riser. Next, a smart house system design is done for the first floor of the house that includes a control of the lighting and air conditioning, plus a display of indoor temperature and an implementation of a motion detector at the main entrance. This design is built on a 20x20 cm layout representing on a small scale the first floor map, using the USB 6008 data acquisition device as the main processor of all inputs and outputs and Visual Basic as programming language for this device.en_US
