This project includes a structural seismic design of an eighteen story residential building including four basements and fourteen typical stories. The building was modeled for analysis and design using structural analysis software "ETABS V13.1.2" and "SAFE V12.2.0". The structural system was divided into two elements: gravity loads resisting elements and seismic loads resisting elements. The gravity loads resisting elements are: slabs, beams, columns and basement wall. The seismic loads resisting elements are: shear walls and mat foundation since our structural system lacks compatible frames. Two advanced topics were discussed in details in this project. The first topic is about the horizontal and the vertical irregularities and studying the factors that make them exist. The second topic is analyzing the building with a dynamic way that is called "The Response Spectrum Analysis". This method was not mandatory in our project since the two conditions for its usage are not found. Structural plans and cross-sections were obviously included to illustrate the work done and show the locations of the designed members. The detailing chapter at the end for all the reinforced concrete members will be included in the hard copy.en_US
