Abstract:
Lebanon is classified as an active region. It was upgraded from being moderate to moderate-high seismic activity. Earthquake is one major problem that should be dealt with in Lebanon. This project is about a seismic design of a Residential building in TripoliLebanon. What is special about this project is the comparison in cost between the designs of our building due to axial load only and due to axial plus lateral load (earthquake). Beams were designed using the ACI. This project includes the non-dynamic design and the seismic design of almost all the structural elements of the building. This is a list of structural elements designed: - Frames (Columns and Beams) - Joint of column and beam - Slabs (Solid and Ribbed) - Shear walls - Mat foundation.
