dc.description.abstract | Worldwide, green materials are getting the attention needed whenever civil engineering application is discussed. Bottom ash in concrete is used greatly in civil engineering works. It was seen that studying its properties will be of great interest since it was studied to see how well it can behave as a substitute in the mortar application. Throughout this study, sand will be substituted with bottom ash in mortar. Bottom ashes samples will be tested after one, seven and twenty-eight days. To study closely the bottom ash properties, results of samples with residue will be compared to regular mortar samples. Based on the findings, an analysis will be performed to assess the bottom ash effects on the mortar. A conclusion is drawn on whether bottom ash is a suitable replacement of sand in mortar in the conditions of experiments. | en_US |
