The project tackled here is an extension to Shtoura Hospital. It consists of two basements, four stories and a roof. The main benefit of this project was the application of skills and knowledge learnt during our masters in civil engineering. Our engineering judgment was highly increased. In this project, combining analysis results with the help of many software was a great challenge. After all, this building is earthquake resistant which means UBC code is the chore of all the calculations and load combinations. AUTOCAD software was used in the visualization of the project and was very helpful in locating columns and beams. In addition, ETABS was used in the analysis and design of shear walls, columns and the frames. Finally, soil reactions were inputted on SAFE in order to design the foundation. Same procedure goes for the slabs. The design of the project was established using, ACI-318M-05, UBC97 and ASCE07. ACI-318M-05 is used for the all Reinforced Concrete sections mainly shear walls, slabs, beams and columns; UBC97 code is used in order to apply the lateral load combinations to the building. Finally, the ASCE-07 code defines the different loads applied. This report states all the data required clearly; all calculations, software analysis and formulas are help in complete understanding.en_US
