Issue Date: | 2013 | Abstract: | In the Cement industry, a great deal of heat is dissipated to the surrounding, driving process engineers to use this wasted energy. The aim of this project is to use new technology such as Thermoelectrical Generator (TEG) to recover the heat loss around the kiln, and convert it to electrical energy. In order to fulfill this aim, a prototype heat recovery system was designed and tested for effectiveness and the data was collected during different occasions and conditions for a wholesome analysis. The numerical findings of the prototype are promising for a feasible and efficient recovery system. A scaled up design of the recovery system described in this report will generate an electric power in the amount of 0.37MW. |
