Biography
"Katia Karam earned her B.S. degree (with honors) in Electrical Engineering and her M.S. degree (with honors) in Electrical Engineering (with a specialization in power and control engineering) from the University of Balamand (UOB), Lebanon, in 2016 and 2018, respectively.

In 2018, she joined the Faculty of Engineering, Departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering, UOB, Balamand, Lebanon, as a Laboratory Assistant, and, in 2020, she became a full-time Laboratory Supervisor & Instructor.

Her teaching experience covers various topics, including control systems, engineering drawings, microcontrollers, electrical circuits, programmable logic controller, etc.

In 2015-2016, she served as the secretary of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) UOB Student Branch, and in 2016-2017, she was the Chair of the Power and Energy Society (PES) at the IEEE UOB Student Branch. In 2016, she was chosen as the representative of the IEEE UOB Student Branch to attend the IEEE Region 8 Student and Young Professional (SYP) Congress in Regensburg, Germany. Additionally, she is a member of IEEE.
She is currently a PhD student at ENSTA Bretagne in Brest, France. Her current research interests are in robotics, automation, modelling, control, optimization, and artificial intelligence.
Additionally, she is the advisor of the Women in Engineering Society at UOB."
