Biography
Dr. Maria Moussa is a dedicated professional with extensive education and expertise in the field of Electrical and Computer Engineering. She holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) and a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Telecommunications Engineering from the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK), Lebanon, obtained in 2015 and 2016, respectively. She further pursued her academic journey and earned a Master of Engineering (ME) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the American University of Beirut (AUB) in 2018. Continuing her pursuit of knowledge, she successfully completed her Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from AUB in 2022.

Dr. Moussas multidisciplinary research and teaching experience have been instrumental in shaping her expertise and biomedical engineering interest. As a research assistant at AUB, she has conducted in-depth studies in the field of electromagnetics and antenna design for various applications. Her research contributions have resulted in numerous publications in prestigious international peer-reviewed journals and conferences. Notably, her research interests encompass microstrip patch antennas, antenna design and applications, miniature antennas for millimeter waves and 5G, and antennas for biomedical applications, with a specific focus on breast cancer detection.

In addition to her research endeavors, Dr. Moussa has a solid background in teaching and supporting practical learning. She has taught courses such as digital communications and has served as a lab assistant, providing valuable support in labs including Introduction to Programming, System Integration, and Digital Communications Laboratory. Her experience also extends to coordinating final year projects course for Electrical and Computer Engineering students.

Dr. Moussas academic journey and expertise are complemented by her proficiency in antenna design software, including HFSS and CST Studio. Her dedication to advancing knowledge in her field is evident through her ongoing contribution as a reviewer for papers in her research domain. As a testament to her research prowess, Dr. Moussas work has been recognized with publications in esteemed journals and conferences. Her research papers cover diverse topics, ranging from ladder-shaped microstrip patch antennas to novel miniature tunable antennas and inward fractal antennas for breast cancer detection.

In 2023, Dr. Maria Moussa joined the University of Balamand as a full-time Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, further enriching the academic community with her expertise and passion for research and teaching.
