Biography
Dr. Abdulkader El-Mir was born in Tripoli, Lebanon in 1990. He earned his BSc and MSc degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Balamand (Lebanon) and then pursued his Ph.D. studies at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (Hungary), where he graduated with distinction in 2018.

Throughout his career, Dr. El-Mir accumulated more than ten years of professional experience in supervising, designing and executing Civil Engineering Projects. He worked on various Mega projects in the Gulf and European regions, such as the “Masdar” sustainable city and “Regent Emirates Pearl” skyscraper. In those projects, he held a wide variety of responsibilities, including assessing the structural integrity of existing buildings, arranging load testing of reinforced concrete bridges, and monitoring concrete placement for nuclear power plants.

Since 2015, Dr. El-Mir has developed and taught a wide array of courses in the areas of structural, material, and transportation engineering at local and foreign universities in a part-time capacity. In 2022, Dr. El-Mir joined the University of Balamand on a full-time basis as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering.

In the course of his career, Dr. El-Mir has participated in several international symposiums and published more than 30 papers in renowned journals and conference proceedings. Additionally, he is a regular reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals. Furthermore, Dr. El-Mir is a member of the Order of Engineers and Architects in Tripoli.
