Biography
Jihad Rishmany was born in Lebanon in 1979. He received a Mechanical Engineering Diploma from the Lebanese University in 2002. He obtained a Ph.D. degree from ENSICA, France, in 2007. He did a postdoctoral research in tribology at Ecole Des Mines in Albi, France in 2008.
In 2009 he was a part-time lecturer in several universities in Lebanon. He joined the University of Balamand, Lebanon, in 2010. Since that time, he has been with the Faculty of Engineering as an assistant professor until September 2018 where he was promoted to associate professor. He has taught more than 20 different courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

He also served as a member in several Community-Linked, extra-Curricular Activities and Scientific/Professional Society such as:
- Member of the committee created by the Ministry of Higher Education for accrediting new engineering programs in Lebanon
- Member of the SUMO Judging Committee of the NERD17 (National Education Robotics Day) held at the University of Balamand on March 04, 2017.
- Member of the International Scientific Committee of the 3rd International Conference on Advances in Computational Tools For Engineering Applications, Actea 2016, Notre Dame University, July 13-15, 2016.
- Committee member in the 6th annual project exhibition of the final engineering project organized by Order Of Engineers in Tripoli in July 2011.
- Member of BIA (Balamand Institutes of Aeronautics).
- Member of the Order of Engineers, Beirut, Lebanon since 2009
- Member of the ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers)
- Member of the AUVSI (Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International)
- Member of advisory board for MNS (Monsif National School)
