Biography
Prof Elie Menassa is certified in fraud examination (US) and risk management assurance (US) He earned his Doctorate in Accounting and Finance at Leicester Business School, De Montfort University UK before taking-up a Postdoctoral position at Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame, Indiana USA An Academic Fellow of the Association of International Accountants UK, he is co-founder and former Vice-President of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners Lebanon Chapter, and an active member of many international bodies, in particular, the American Accounting Association, the Institute of Internal Auditors USA, the European Accounting Association, and the British Accounting and Finance Association Dr Menassa is also an active researcher with publications in international refereed academic journals and professional outlets, as well as an ad-hoc reviewer for many authoritative journals and conference proceedings He is also invited keynote speaker at many professional congresses and has lectured and given presentations in top refereed conferences in more than 20 countries around the globe He provides consulting in strategic planning, market research, business schools accreditation and modern manufacturing philosophies and tools, and has worked in this capacity with partners from the USA and the region Besides currently being the Trustee General of the Maronite Diocese of Tripoli and the President of the Municipal Council of Kfarfou, Dr Menassa is full professor of Accounting & Strategy at the University of Balamand and has served as Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics at Notre Dame University – Louaize between 2012 and 2016 Prior to his current positions, he worked in different academic and administrative capacities at the University of Aston in Birmingham UK, and De Montfort University in Leicester UK, in addition to serving as Visiting Professor of Strategic Management and Financial Accounting at Worms University of Applied Sciences, Germany, and the Cyprus International Institute of Management respectively His professional experience includes managerial positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Eternit SAL, Libano-Suisse SAL, and Mina Group SARL in Lebanon, and Somerfield LTD in the United Kingdom
