Biography
Dr. Elie Inaty received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Balamand, Lebanon, in 1996 and 1998, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from Laval University, Quebec, Canada, in 2002, all in electrical engineering.

In 2003 he joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Balamand, Lebanon, as an Assistant Professor. He was promoted to an Associate Professor in 2009 (current position). Since December 2005, he has been an Adjunct Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Sciences and Engineering, Laval University, Quebec, Canada. From 2003 to 2006, he was a DEA research thesis supervisor at the Ecole Supérieure d’Ingénieurs de Beyrouth (ESIB), l’Université Saint-Joseph, Lebanon.

From 2011 to 2018, he was head of the Office of Information Technology with the rank of Assistant to The president for IT issues and acting executive director of all IT operations and infrastructure including but not limited to 4 UOB campuses + 18 IT staffs + 2 IT directors.

Dr. Inaty is a member of the Institution of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and Optical Society of America (OSA). He has also served as a technical referee for Proceedings of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, IEEE/OSA Journal of Lightwave Technology, IEEE/OSA Journal of Optical Communications and Networks, OSA Continuum and the IEEE Access. He also served as a chair for numerous conferences and a referee for many funding agencies. He has been an invited speaker in numerous international conferences.
