Biography
My name is Samir Elias Sertin I was born in Tripoli, Lebanon from a Lebanese/Greek father and a Lebanese mother I had my school education at Tripoli Evangelical School graduating in 1983 I joined Beirut University College (now Lebanese American University – LAU) where I got my BS in Business/Accounting and later my MS in Business Management After working for an accountant, and then as a financial controller, for almost thirteen years in the private sector, I shifted to academia I taught at different universities in Lebanon, and in 2007, I got certified in public accountancy (CPA) from Georgia State Board of Accountancy and from the Accountancy Examining Board of the State of Iowa in 2016 I’m also a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) since 2014 I’m currently a full-time senior lecturer at the University of Balamand (2009 – present) and coordinator of the Accounting & Auditing track at the Faculty of Business & Management (2012 – present)
