Dr. Georges Aouad is an Associate Professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering department at the University of Balamand. Following a 10-year career at Institut Mines Telecom France, Dr. Aouad joined the University Of Balamand in 2016. He received form Université Louis-Pasteur France the Accreditation to Lead Research degree (HDR) in 2013, and a Ph.D. in Material Science in 2006. He received his M.S. in Materials and Analytical Chemistry from Ecole Européenne d’ingénieurs de Chimie, Polymères et Matériaux (ECPM) France in 2002.

His research and teaching interests span both Materials for Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering. Much of his work has been on developing new Materials for Civil Engineering, improving concrete durability, and solid waste management. He was involved as Principle Investigator or Co-Investigator in funded Interdisciplinary Research projects (5 European projects, 9 projects with Industrial Partners, and 3 projects with Public Sector). He supervised 12 Ph.D. Thesis (two are in progress) and he built and extensive network in France, United Kingdom, Belgium, Canada, Algeria, and Morocco.
