Biography
Tony Georges Tannous is an Associate Professor of Physics in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the University of Balamand, Lebanon He enjoys working at this esteemed institution since 1999 During this fruitful period, he served as an instructor, as a Chairperson of the Physics Department, as a developer of Physics courses and as a creator of Physics curricula for Lebanon and abroad; Tony is a dedicated academic On one hand, he is an avid and highly motivated instructor who is sincerely interested in monitoring the progress and the advancement of his students On the other hand, he is a competent researcher interested in Confocal Microscopy Imaging, Nano-Optics phenomena and lately the Effects of Dust on Plant Light Absorption, with articles and conference papers published in these topics; He received his BSc Degree in Physics with Honors from the Lebanese University He then furthered his studies in the School of Physics at Sydney University, Australia where he obtained his Graduate Diploma in Physics with Honors and then was awarded his PhD in Sciences for his original work in developing theories and experiments on Confocal Scanning Microscopy using Ultrashort Laser Pulses
